It’s February – Happy New Year!

I know, I know, we are heading toward the end of February, and here I am saying ‘Happy New Year’ to you all! The truth is, I lived in a lovely and blissful state of denial right through January. I was determined to enjoy the school holidays right to the very end with everything I had in me. My pet hate is that as soon as Christmas finishes the back to school sales start. I am not one of those mums who is in a hurry to get back to the school schedule or routine. So, I avoided the back to school sales by not heading to the shops and…

    Taking Stock – December 2020

I was so excited for December to come this year. It has been quite the year in so many ways. Sadly, December came and disappeared very quickly. However, our December was a great month for so many reason. Our family went away to the Gold Coast for one of our best holidays ever. We thoroughly enjoyed our time away together. We celebrated the kids finishing school for the year, and we celebrated our eldest finishing her advanced diploma. We found out that she was one of three who actually graduated with her qualification. Her other classmates must need to resubmit certain assessment pieces before they can move forward to receiving…

    21 for 2021

It’s that time of year when we start thinking about our goals for the coming year. I don’t know about you, but I have been thinking about 2021 for some time. I could tell you 10 great reasons for why you shouldn’t bother setting goals for 2021, considering 2020 was the year of covid-19 and Quarantining. Should we even bother setting goals? The answer to this question is ALWAYS YES! We should bother setting goals! We still have desires, and things we want to achieve in our lives. We are creative beings, goals give us direction, and we are responsible for the lives we lead despite the craziness going on…

    Disorganised Christmas Mum

It turns out that the word insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over and over trying to get a different result. Every year I vow that next year is going to be more organised with regard to Christmas shopping. I always think I have plenty of time, and every year I feel a little stressed leading up to Christmas day. I know I am not the only one because there are other crazed looking people at the shops also looking for the perfect gift for their indecisive teenagers. I am the mother of three daughters and a little boy, two are indecisive. I believe perfect is the…

    The Christmas Jars Movie

It’s December! December is one of the busiest months of the year – Family and friends catch ups, Christmas events, holidays, celebrations, preparing for Christmas and Christmas movies. We love Christmas movies. Last year we enjoyed ‘The Christmas Chronicles’ on Netflix, and while I hear there is a second instalment to ‘The Christmas Chronicles’ now out on Netflix, we are no longer subscribers to the service. This year, we opted to see a movie called ‘The Christmas Jars’. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is a movie that I look forward to seeing again next year, and I did need a few tissues, but it was lovely and heartwarming in…

    Taking Stock – November 2020

Far out brussell Sprout! I’m not sure how we got here, but I feel as though I have just done the most almighty slide through to the end of November. It’s been a crazy month with a few very unexpected events, reporting, Ames finished her Tafe Advanced Diploma course, and hubby had to fly up to Mackay to help his parents come home. I decided to spend some time cleaning up my social media platforms, and change the way I use social media, along with a few other huge end of year happenings. Here we are at the end of November wondering how we are going to fit everything we…

    Taking Stock – October 2020

Not sure what to think with it being the end of October! This year has been quite the year in so many ways – Good, Bad and a little bit Ugly! We returned to school and TAFE life after the September school holidays, and celebrated a few of family birthdays this month. It was good to catch up with some family after months of lockdown. We literally hit the ground running from the very first day of term 4. So much has happened this month, and I am officially ready for the end of year holidays, but we still have a lot of work to finish before the end of…

    Family: Mental Load

I’m not sure when I became aware of my desperate need for simplicity, but I remember starting to think about it more seriously not long after I had our fourth baby. Maybe it was the shock of having four children under 8? Although it could have been everything that was on my plate at the time, considering my dad had died 8 months prior to having Jaden! Also, 2011 was a massive year for us as it was also the year that our Amy was diagnosed with Chronic Recurring Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO), and we started our four year journey getting Ames back to health. I know I spent a lot…
