Parenting war with Fancy dancey stationery shops
I have three girls who love a particular colourful stationery shop that has seemed to pop up into every large shopping centre over the last few years. This store is are everywhere! The girls love to go and explore the fresh notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, sharpeners, calculators, and other merchandise in each varying colour. This store is very appealing to the young eye, and I have been told by one of my dear impressionable children that if you don’t buy your school supplies at this particular store – then your basically worthless! As you can imagine, this no frills mummy, was not impressed by this untrue statement. I…

Its 2013….Happy New Year!!!
It has been 10 days since 2012 finished and 2013 started, and I have spent the last ten days getting organised, sorted, appointments, and really enjoying my kids. Jaden’s second birthday is on the 12th so I have organised a little birthday morning tea for him and his little cousin Charlotte who is 8 days younger than him. I have also spent time writing – not just for my blog (not yet published as I have been juggling the must do, with the want to do), but planning 2013 and action plans too boot! This week hubby went back to work, and while I was sad the holidays…

The Rubber meets the Road…Its time to get serious for 2013!
December 2012 is coming to a close. In five more sleeps it will be new years eve, and then it will be the 1st of January 2013. The first of January is symbolic. It is the day that most people start thinking about what they want for their lives, and what they want to change. They start to put a goal list together. Most of us make ‘good intention’ promises to ourselves – the plan is to do better and be better. We have good intentions, but new plans or new convictions for our lives can not stand up too good intentions. Unfortunately good…

November – the month of getting organised!
Over the last couple of weeks I have been doing a lot of thinking. I have been trying to work out the direction I want to take in 2013. I am trying to make a few decisions for my life. Does anyone else find that they start thinking about the direction for their lives in November, or is just me? I wonder if its because I see tables of fresh new diaries for the next year popping up on tables in shopping centres, so one feels a little pressure to do something with one’s life? There is something surreal about the month of November for me.…

The week that came and went….
Well this week has been a great week, and a very busy week. The week started with birthdays,Wet’n Wild, a student free day, the normal school week, organising a family barbeque for tomorrow for 15 people, and secretly interviewing child care centres. Jaden needs some structure and playtime with other little boys, and I need a little space, and the ability to do a grocery shop without Jaden throwing items out of the trolley. He really is a grocery store nightmare. You may laugh, but I spend more time in the shopping centre trying to grab things that he has either thrown out or is about to throw…

Classes for next year have been proposed!
Yesterday I read the school newsletter and found that while my big girls will be in straight classes next year – year 4 and 5, the admin at the school are bracing us parents early for the prospect of a year 1/2 class and a 2/3 class. Now if you know me, you will know that I am not in favour with this idea. Some may disagree with the way I am thinking, but here it goes. My youngest little girl will be going into year 2 next year, she is one of the youngest in her class, being a late May baby, but if its up to…

Spring and the heat of renovating!
Its only been 1 month and 10 days since Spring started and I am not coping well with the heat. Its not even Summer yet. Summer starts on the 1 December and I am wondering if I have a thermostat issue. Is it just me…or is everyone feeling overheated? Are my hormones going crazy or have I just forgotten how hot a true Summer can be here in Queensland. I miss our old house in Chancellor Park. It was a lovely 3 bedroom home, with a pool. Looking back – it was very nice. Not enough room for 6 people – 4 of which are growing and need…

I know what your problem is…!
It was so amazing to be asked to go to a group for Mums in Business – especially when your in the process of looking for ‘The Right Direction’. A friend of mine has asked me a few times now if I would go, and although I was planning to go, I wasn’t able to go for one reason or another – till today. Actually its been Jaden who has prevented me from going! Yep I am blaming the boy! This time, I made it a priority to go – obviously I would put my kids first if I had to, but I made a plan of action,…
