Did you miss me…!
I bet your thinking that Mischievious Mum (me) went M.I.A? Well I am back. I have to admit that I did have a mini holiday and I found myself thinking about my blog and what I wanted to do with it! My mind was going crazy – I wrote many of my ideas down on paper – and I am still adding to the list! First of all, however, I am going to tell you the quick version of my week away…well not quite a week. The Microsoft Tech Ed conference was back again for another year down on the Gold Coast. We love the Tech Ed conference as we…

Oompa Loompa’s live at Kmart Caloundra
I am guilty of lying to my children. I have encouraged them to believe in Santa, the Tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and Oompa Loompa’s! I made the lie more authentic by creating an email address – not for the Oompa Loompa’s, but the others. However, because i find it hard to swallow that these mysteriously pretend characters get all the praise for our hard work of buying our kids their Christmas presents….Santa and the Easter Bunny have found themselves affected by the GFC. In fact all three of them are having some money woes. Santa and his friends come and leave their wares, but the value of the gifts…

Jaden…the only boy child!
Jaden is turning 20 months this month….on the 12th actually – which is Wednesday next week. This child is amazingly cute, gorgeous and a whole lot of fun, but let me say that he has turned my world upside down and inside out. Obviously he is a positive in my life, but he gets into absolutely everything. My girls loved to colour pictures. Jaden loves to colour walls, tables and floors. My girls loved to play tea parties. Jaden loves to pull all the plastics out of the cupboard and jump all over them. Oh, and he pulls the toaster out and shakes it all over the kitchen. The girls…

Coffee with a good friend
On Saturday night I took some time out with a friend – we met up at Mooloolaba and hobbled up to Gloria Jeans to kick back and chat. I have a huge blister on the bottom of my foot, but I was absolutely determined to have a fun night. There is no way I am going to allow a sore blister to get in the way of friendship and hot chocolate! 🙂 Mooloolaba is spectacular during the day, and when you get to walk down the pathway next to the ocean where the sun hits the surface of the water, you know that your in paradise. The night life of…

Sleep Over Tents…Aren’t these great
I would love to make these for the kids…and have a few spare for when we have friends over or cousins come…in fact, I would love to make one of these for all the little cousins coming. I have been looking at ‘how to make a ‘tee pee’ but I think I love this idea far more than a tee pee. I don’t know which of my kids would love theirs more…but I know without a shadow of a doubt that I know that all of them would love it. I also like the fact that these Sleep over tents would fold and store away easily. …

Going on a bear hunt…
This is one of my kids favourite stories of all time… they love the Swishy Swashing! Splash Sploshing! Squelch Squerching! Stumble tripping! Hooo Wooooing! the Tiptoeing! that happens in the story. I love their excited faces as we reach the part of the story when we actually go into the cave and find the bear and have to do the whole adventure in reverse. Do you live your life in the hurried reverse of trying to get home before the bear gets you! In real life the bear may not be the bear itself, it might be ‘getting the kids to school on time’, ‘getting homework done’, ‘it might…

A Big Day…and Surprise Visitors!
I knew last night as I went to bed that today was going to be a huge day. A day full of things to do – not just todays jobs – but many of yesterdays as we weren’t home for too long to do any! Dion was off with the boys – guys from work to attend the annual Blackboard conference on the Gold Coast and he was leaving 3pm. This year it is being held at the Bond University – Monday through to Wednesday of ‘Geek Speak’! So to help Dion pack – I ironed shirts and while I was there I ironed a few more so that I…

Secret: I would love to live on the Gold Coast!
I know that many people hate the Gold Coast for many reasons, but I am going to defy all contary beliefs and tell you all my secret – I love the Gold Coast, and I would love to live down there. What is it about the Gold Coast that I love. Well its simple – I just do! I love going on holidays, the Gold Coast Council has made the beach front areas a destination for families to enjoy. You just have to look at Southport. Don’t get me wrong, i love the Sunshine Coast, but there doesn’t seem to be anything to do really. I love the…
