    Little Women (2019)

One of my favourite things about having children who have jobs is that every so often they want to take me out for a treat. Yesterday, Beps decided to treat me to the movies. We went to see the new ‘Little Women‘ movie. Now, I am going to be honest here and say that I was a little nervous going in. I was hoping with everything within me, that the director did not change or manipulate the story of ‘Little Women‘ to modernise it or add characters that need not be added. I hoped that no agenda would be applied to the recent making of the movie of ‘Little Women‘.…

    New Life, New Decade

Happy New Year!!! I’m quite excited about 2020…I feel as though there are some great things in store for the coming year. I had all these plans to write more last year, however, 2019 turned out to be my hardest year ever. Well it felt like that. For the most part I felt over the whole homeschooling life, I wanted to send the kids back to school and finish up with homeschooling, my Uncle (who’s my mum’s twin) died suddenly in July which really threw us a curve ball, our eldest was in year 11 – and that in itself was full on. I just felt tired, overworked, underpaid, too…

    Hello October

Well it certainly has been a while, hasn’t it? I have literally had a terrible bout of writers block this year, and between homeschooling, decluttering, colds and flues, a friends wedding, a family member dying, a family catch up or two, Church, Social events, our women’s conference at Church, school workshops, Tafe, driving lessons with our eldest teen, and running the kids to all their ventures, I have finally found my way back to my trusty keyboard. I have missed you my friend. We have a few things to catch up on. I personally find it ironic, the more I try to live intentionally and simply, the more chaotic my…

    Winter Holidays 2019

The first week of the school holidays has flown by so quickly. It’s been quite a cold week, but we have been a little busy. Our youngest (8) wanted to try his hand at martial arts, so we found a spot for him at the Matt Fiddes class in Caloundra. He has just done a trial class so far, and has another one to go, but right now, he is smitten with the idea that he could possibly be the next ‘The Karate Kid’. Hubby watched the first movie with him last week, and he thoroughly enjoyed the antics of Mr Miyagi teaching the young Daniel Larusso the art of…

74 Fun things to Do on the Holidays with No Money!

The holidays are coming! In a few short days, the school holidays will be upon on us. I literally can not wait! I’m one of those mums who love school holidays with her kids and want the holidays to linger for as long as possible. This term, for us, has been far bigger than the 10 weeks we have all just travelled. It stung, but here we are a couple of days away from the final day of term two. It would be nice to go away over the holidays, and it would be lovely to have a holiday where we could throw money at a number of fun and…

    19 for 2019

We are 19 days into 2019. Funnily enough, I thought it would be a great day to tell you my 19 for 2019 plan. Some of them are the same as last years list. Truthfully, I didn’t have a brilliant 2018, and I didn’t succeed at many of my goals on the list. I touched on a few, but it really was a pathetic effort on my part. I let a situation that hurt me, taint last year, and while I can’t do anything about that situation, there was something healing about leaving the last year at the door of this brand new year. There were great moments, decisions and…

    Hello 2019

There is something quite special about this time of year. Yes it is hot, but the days are long, Christmas and new year celebrations bring family and friends together, and the feeling of being on school holidays makes my heart smile from the inside out. I am in no rush to get back into the grind of term life. Holidays fit me very well – I think they look good on me!! I love the long end of year holidays where we can linger and enjoy the Sunshine Coast for what it is I know I will sound cheeky when I say this, but living on the Sunshine Coast is…

    Reporting, Homeschooling and Holidays

This week is the week of the semester that I look forward to the least. Reporting week! Our teacher came on Tuesday to do reporting with us.   I like our teacher, but I really don’t like the reporting process.    I wanted to feel ready, and in control, but this time, I did not.   We have worked hard this semester, but it’s also been a very full on few months.  I feel that the best picture I can give you is of me, pushing two very large elephants up a very long and rocky steep ascented  hill.  A hill where I have tripped and dropped said elephants, and…
